  1. 1 cup chole
  2. 1 tbsp chana daal
  3. 1 tsp green chilli ginger garlic paste
  4. 1 tsp haldi,red chilli powder,dhaniya powder,salt as per taste
  5. 1 tsp garam masala and chole masala
  6. 1 bay leaves
  7. 3-4 tbsp oil
  8. 1 tea bag
  9. 2 tomatoes

Steps to make to make Punjabi chole

  1. Soak the chick peas overnight in water.Next day in a pressure cooker drain the soak chick peas water and add chickpeas,chana dal bay leaves,tea bag and water, pressure cook the chick peas til 5 to 6 whistles
  2. Remove the cooker.and check the chick peas are cooked.
  3. Heat a pan add oil then wen oil is heated add grated onion and saute til it turns little golden brown.add green chilli,ginger garlic paste and cook for 3 to 4 minutes
  4. Now add chopped tomatoes or ouree,stir and let it cook for 10 to12 minutes.when the oil seprates from side.Add all dry masalas and mix it properly and salt as per taste.
  5. Remove to a serving bowl.garnish with coriander.Serve with puri or bhature.
  6. Add boiled chick peas to the onion tomato mixture.stir till all chickpeas are coated with all masalas..
  7. Add water to get some gravy.The gravy wil thicken after 10 to 15 min.let all get mixed it properly and let it comes to a boil.
