- Wash rice and dal and soak it for 15 minutes
- Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and add hing and jeera as jeera turns brown add bay leaf,cinnamon stick,badi elaichi, green chilli and ginger and stir for couple of minutes
- Add haldi powder,red chilli powder and soaked dal and rice and stir a while
- Add water and salt to taste and pressure cook for one whistle
- Let the pressure release itself,open the lid and stir once
- Now it's ready to serve,garnish it with green coriander and serve it with chutney,curd, pickle,papad and salad
