  3. 1/4 cup chana dal
  4. 1/4 cup tuar dal
  5. 1/2 cup rice

  9. to taste Red chilli powder
  10. 2 tbsp curd
  11. 1/4 tsp baking soda
  12. to taste Salt and sugar
  13. For tempering
  14. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  15. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  16. 1/4 tsp fennel seeds
  17. as needed chilli flakes

Steps to make to make Savoury cake

  1. Grind dal and rice to a smooth paste using water (after 7 hrs)
  2. Mix all in a big bowl and soak
  3. Grinded paste
  4. To the portion of batter, add ginger garlic paste, turmeric, Red chilli powder, salt, dhaniya powder, sugar, cashews and kishmish.
    Mix well and let it rest for an hour (minimum)
  5. Take curd in a bowl and mix soda to it. Mix well so that the fizz arise well.
    Mix this to the rested batter. Mix well.
  6. Spread this well in a greased tin.
  7. Over the batter, spread the tempering.
    For it heat oil in a pan. Crackle jeera, mustard seeds and sauf. Put flame off and put little chilli flakes and spread evenly over cake batter.
  8. Bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for the time till it gets brown outside (it took me 22 minutes). It might vary with different microwaves and ovens.
  9. Let it cool and demould. Cut and serve with tea.. As a snack... With chutney and ketchup or aiwai 😊
